The design, construction and operation of the 2009 cleanup actions are described in the 2009 Engineering Design Report (EDR) and the Cleanup Action Plan. The report includes changes to the Skykomish cleanup schedule as well as the construction activities, building relocation, traffic impacts and construction sequence for 2009-2011. Below is a summary of construction activities performed in 2009.

• Temporarily relocated Maloney’s General Store, and Wheatley, Sarno and Martin houses
• Removed the SkyRiver Inn, SkyRiver Inn office and post office
• Permanently relocated the BNSF house
• Relocated post office operations to a temporary location for at least two years
• Temporarily relocated the Skykomish Hotel
• Excavated free product and contaminated soils on BNSF, Town, SkyRiver Inn, Skykomish Hotel, Whistling Post, Wheatley, Sarno and Martin properties
• Returned Sarno and Martin houses, restored the properties and connected to infrastructure for the community wastewater system
• Performed compliance monitoring & restoration activities
